Oh Shat! I have a Rat!

I was sitting in the living room relaxing while watching a show on the tube.  I heard this unusual noise from the kitchen that got my attention.  While picking up the remote to engage the mute on the TV I heard another similar noise coming from the kitchen.  I got up and walked in the kitchen, upon turning on the light a half eaten bag of doritos came out of the trash can and onto the floor.  This HUGE fricking rat subsequently followed.  Seeing me the rat proceeded to seek shelter in the corner behind the trash can.  What to do?  What to do?  I decided to smash the trash can against the wall in hopes of killing the rat behind it.  Please note that the trash can is made of wood.  Well the rat screeched in horror and it was only pinned in between the baseboard on the wall and the trim of the trashcan.  I hollered for my girlfriend and she came running. I asked her to hold the trashcan while I got something.  I was looking for something to kill the rat, what to get.  "A Broom!"  Getting the broom I proceeded to attempt to beat the rat to death.  The rat did not go quietly into that good night.  I was not successful due to the rat managing to free himself from this unfortunate position and ran past me down the hall and into the laundry room where it escaped into the wall via the washing machine hook up coming out of the wall.

Next step seal the holes.

I sealed the holes and thought all was well...  NOT!

Next step.. traps...

I soon found out that rats are devious and SMART!

Next step..  A Cat!

 THIS KIND OF CAT!

So I went on the search of a cat... what I got was this cat.
Even though I could not find the cat I wanted this little jewel would do the job I was hoping.
A few weeks later I saw the cat staring at the stove oh so intently.  I went on the search for what the cat was hoping to see and the cat runs off.  I then see what the cat was after and the rat runs to the dishwasher and is gone.. again.. where is the cat... ON THE COUCH!

Oh boy this is aggravating.  They may as well be friends.
Last night the cat was staring at the stove again.  I pulled the stove out AGAIN.  Cat runs off AGAIN.  I see something that looks like a copper tube sticking out of the back of the stove.  This "tube" appears to be about six inches long and 1/4 inch in diameter.  I am thinking,, this stove would not have a tube on the back of it when the tube disappears into the stove.  I quickly open the drawer at the bottom of the stove and the rat jumps out of the drawer and runs into the dining room and on into the living room.  GUESS WHAT? that little cute cuddly cat is in the living room.  Before my eyes that cute cuddly cat with his tongue stuck out transforms into the bane of rat kind and jumps on the rat intent to make a dent.  The rat is fighting, screeching,, the cat is running and jumping as the rat gets away, gets caught, gets away.  I mean the rat is half the size of the cat and the cat is acting like she is five times the size of the rat.

The rat does manage to elude the cat but I think the rat knows that he is really not wanted in my residence.

Behavior has Consequences

Ones behavior has consequences.  Those consequences may be on you or another individual.  The other day I read a news article that shocked me, it was about an officer in South Carolina who subsequently lost his job after he had taken his cruiser to a charity carwash and pictures were posted on Face Book.  On the face of it I was horrified, I was curious as to what pictures could have been taken that would cause such an action and I started "googling" the topic.  I found myself looking at another article at http://www.wistv.com/Global/story.asp?S=13195821
I was horrified by what I saw in the pictures.
These were taken at a charity carwash which was founded by a local tattoo studio.  The girls are actually employed by a local gentlemen's club.  Those two factors had an impact on the situation I feel sure.  I imagine that the citizens claim to be christian and are of the republican party.  I find that those two facts make people up-tight and narrow minded about the rights of others.

Now.. I don't care about where they were taken or what the girls did for employment.. I am very unhappy about their behavior.  This was a charity event.. they car that they are all "posed" on is a city vehicle.  I used the term posed with specific intent.  They are not washing this car.  I see no sponges or buckets of soapy water.  I do see a water hose and that is the only sign that this is a car wash.  I do not really approve of the officer losing his job by force if he did.
He may have just resigned his position if his boss was a staunch conservative and did not want to him his belly aching about it.

All of the comments I have seen about this incident all point to the police department in a negative way.  I have an issue with that people... What the heck is wrong with you all?  Are you looking at this photo with anything other than your hormones?  That is nasty, disgusting and many other descriptive words I could use.  This was a charity event and that is a city official vehicle.  The problem is the behavior of the girls.. period.....
